Welcome

Welcome to the Mary F. Janvier Elementary School webpage. Our school is a place where all children learn in a nurturing, yet academically challenging environment. All students have the opportunity for success at Mary F. Janvier Elementary School as they are instructed by dynamic educators who are committed towards meeting each child’s individual needs. As the educational leader of Mary F. Janvier Elementary School, I believe that it is essential that a strong school community relationship exists. As a school community, we take pride in the growth of our children and celebrate their achievements.
Approximately, 550 students in grades Pre K-2 receive daily classroom instruction by professional staff who utilize current and effective instructional strategies to foster growth in the target areas of literacy and mathematics. Additionally, an emphasis is placed on student social emotional growth through formal Character Education sessions and check ins throughout the school day. Technological resources, including Chrome Books and Promethean Boards are used in a relevant manner. Of note, Kindergarten, 1st Grade, and 2nd Grade students are assigned their own chromebook for daily use. Science, Social Studies, and Health are woven into instruction both formally and informally with students also participating in weekly Library, Art, Music, Computers, and Physical Education lessons. The Mary F. Janvier Elementary School staff is committed towards providing educationally rich experiences for our students with the goal of leading our children towards the acquisition of skills that will serve them throughout their lifetime.
